HI!

I'm Brent. I try to love like I should. Sometimes I don't do it well. I hope that changes.

How I'm Involved:

• I do all the web administration, server administration, email administration, etc. for the site
• I'm a resident of the House
• I'll probably be doing a lot of work in our community garden
• I'm at the House awake at odd hours to help with our (hopefully/mostly) "Always Open" goal
• I'll be assisting with our education projects
• (many others)

A Bit About Me:

 I was born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania. I went to North Penn High School but I was a pretty big dork back then (not to say that's changed any, of course). I graduated (barely!) and then went to Montgomery County Community College for three years. I then transferred to Eastern University and moved to Devon, PA. While I was there, G-d changed my life and really instilled upon me the urgency of social justice (thanks to the YACHT kids) and the beauty of G-d's love and Word (thanks to Rev. Pollard). I attended for a year, and was subsequently kicked out because of poor grades (I obviously am not the academic sort. I have my strengths and weaknesses...), and began attending Ellis University- a sister school of NYIT that specializes in online classes. However, I shortly left to dedicate as much as my time, mind, and heart to the House. I then moved back into the northeastern region and worked for a hosting/server leasing company (TekTonic, Inc.) and after a year was laid off due to the economic crisis and am currently seeking employment. I moved to New Orleans in August of 2009.

I love Hashem, I would probably shrivel up and die without music (especially weird music! Weird music that I can dance to is even better), I'm a recovering ex-English major (but still greatly enjoy writing!), I enjoy poetry (Rilke, Whitman, Bukowski, Ginsberg... as you can see, there's a bit of an eclectic smattering there), and more classic sci-fi (Verne, Wells, Poe). I don't think I could ever accurately sum up myself in writing, but I would still really like to be your friend.

I'm also, if it's not painfully obvious, quite a geek and spend way too much time fawning over GNU/Linux and BSD. :)
