okay. sorry for the hiatus! we've been a busy little whirlwind getting things into shape.

first off, heather and leanna have both left (so we have some open girls' spots....). we still <3 them both tons, but they both left for personal reasons, and that's as in-depth as needs explaining. needless to say, we think they'll both be happier with what they're doing now and we hope they can visit often!

secondly, marc said he was going to post this story but i guess he forgot. someone asked him for a cigarette and he obliged. later in the day, marc was out of cigarettes but he met the same man, and that same man gave him six (there's something very biblical about all this; multipling of crops and so forth sound familiar? ;) it gets better).

this man's name is daniel, and it turns out he's a brother in Christ. marc and daniel start talking and marc mentions all the plumbing issues we were in the middle of fixing ourselves. daniel, as it turns out, is a certified plumber and ALSO does construction (i may be simplifying it a bit..)! so he offers to come by and take a look.

it's now about a week later, and we have hot water on both sides, proper piping to both sides' washer and dryer (the girls' washer conked out just yesterday though- no biggie, we aren't worried), ALL the piping underneath the house was replaced, we now have a dog fence for lucy (our sweet and lovable but dumb-as-a-rock mascot, a rottweiler/labrador(we think) mix). daniel's cooked and clean for us (and astoundingly so) without being asked. i've even had to "fight" with him just to have him let me do the dishes! :)

so he's staying with us for a bit (troubles at his current place), and during this time we're giving him a "trial period" of being a Resident at the House.
